Fake Currency Racket Busted in Hanamkonda, Rs 4 Lakh Counterfeit Notes Seized

Hanamkonda, November 2:  In a joint operation, the Kakatiya University Campus police and Task Force police busted a counterfeit currency ring and arrested four persons on Thursday. The suspects were seized with Rs 4 lakh counterfeit notes in 500 denominations, Rs 85,000 in genuine Rs 500 notes, two vehicles, and material essential for making counterfeit currency.

The mastermind behind the racket was identified as Porika Raj Kumar from Ghanpur (Mulugu), who had a history of involvement in crime. He allegedly collaborated with Rajesh, Boora Srikanth, and Manthena Kavya to offer a commission to one Pathan from Nanded in exchange for finding potential clients interested in counterfeit currency. Raj Kumar claimed that he could provide counterfeit notes at double the face value.

Pathan then dispatched Omkar Viswanatha Rao Boore, Kawal, and Sambaji to Hanamkonda to purchase counterfeit currency from Raj Kumar. They had provided him with Rs 2 lakh in genuine cash, in exchange for which Raj Kumar provided them with black-coloured notes, cut to the size of Rs 500 notes. Raj Kumar instructed them that the notes could be converted into genuine Rs 500 notes by washing them in a hypo solution.

However, the police authorities apprehended Raj Kumar at Chintagattu Bridge while he was delivering the counterfeit currency to the other three suspects. The other three too were nabbed later, while efforts are on to arrest the other three absconding suspects.

Warangal Police Commissioner Ambar Kishore Jha commended the KUC police and Task Force personnel for their efforts in apprehending the suspects.

This incident highlights the importance of being vigilant and aware of the signs of counterfeit currency. If you encounter any suspicious notes, it is important to report them to the police immediately.

Hyderabad Woman Loses Rs 29 Lakhs in Fake Japan Job Offer

Hyderabad: A 42-year-old woman from Moosapet, Hyderabad, was duped into paying Rs 29.27 lakh in the guise of a full-time job offer in Japan. The woman, an accounts and delivery manager, was approached by a company called Renoir Group in July 2023, which promised her a job with Hitachi Automotive.

The woman was sent an offer letter and an In-Principal Approval (IPA) for employment in Japan. She was asked to pay a refundable deposit of Rs 33,780, which she did. Over the next few months, she was asked to pay various other charges, which she was told were refundable with a 40% bonus and relocation once her visa was stamped.

The woman’s meeting with Hitachi representatives was scheduled in Delhi, but it was postponed due to the G20 summit and then again due to a large number of candidates dropping out of the offer. She was later told that the meeting would be conducted in Bengaluru in October, but it was delayed again due to candidates falling ill with dengue and other health issues.

The woman was then told that the first batch meeting was in process and that she would have to join the second batch, as only limited visa stamping was done at the Japan Consultancy in Bengaluru on a given day. She was asked to pay an additional amount for the meeting, but she grew suspicious and contacted the Embassy of Japan in Bengaluru.

The embassy confirmed that Hitachi was not conducting any recruitment drive in Japan. The woman then lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad cybercrime wing, who registered a case and started an investigation.

This incident is a reminder to be cautious of job offers that seem too good to be true. Always do your research on the company and the position before applying, and be wary of any requests for upfront payments. If you are unsure about a job offer, it is always best to consult with a trusted friend or family member.

Telangana Election 2023: BRS Predicted to Win With 72-75 Seats

A survey by Janta Ka Mood Political Research and Consultancy has found that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is likely to win the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections with 72 to 75 seats, while the Congress is expected to win 31 to 36 seats. The AIMIM and BJP are projected to win 6 to 7 seats and 4 to 6 seats respectively.

The survey found that the BRS is leading in terms of vote share with 41 percent, followed by the Congress with 34 percent, the BJP with 14 percent, and the AIMIM with 3 percent.

The report also found that there are 18 Assembly seats where there could be very close contests between the BRS, BJP, and Congress.

The report attributed the BRS‘ popularity to the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, as well as the party’s popular schemes for farmers, youth, women, and other groups.

The report also found that the Congress is bogged down by internal rivalry and lacks a strong face to match Chandrashekhar Rao’s popularity.

The BJP, meanwhile, is suffering from groupism and internal rivalry between groups led by Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy.

Overall, the survey suggests that the BRS is well-positioned to win the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections.

Vivek Venkataswamy Resigns from BJP, Joins Congress

Vivek Venkataswamy, who was previously a member of the BJP, has decided to leave the party. He is expected to join the Congress, and this move took place in the presence of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

This decision by Vivek Venkataswamy is seen as a significant setback for the BJP in Telangana, especially with the upcoming assembly elections. He has formally resigned from the BJP and will meet Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad to announce his joining of the Congress.

In his resignation letter to the BJP’s state unit president, G Kishan Reddy, Vivek expressed his gratitude for the support he received during his time with the BJP.

It has been reported that A Revanth Reddy, the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), reached out to Vivek and encouraged him to join the Congress. Additionally, there are indications that Vivek’s son, Vamshi Krishna, may be nominated by the Congress to contest in the Chennur constituency.

Ram Mohan Goud Returns to BRS

Ram Mohan Goud Returns to BRS

Hyderabad: Barely two weeks after joining the Congress, Muddugouni Ram Mohan Goud on Wednesday rejoined the BRS party in the presence of senior leader and Minister T Harish Rao. His wife and former corporator Lakshmi Pasanna Goud and other leaders also joined the BRS.

Goud was the BRS candidate in the 2018 elections and lost to Congress candidate D. Sudheer Reddy, who later defected to the BRS along with other Congress MLAs. Goud had joined the Congress in the presence of TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy on October 12.

Why did Goud rejoin the BRS?

There are a few possible reasons why Goud may have rejoined the BRS. One possibility is that he was unhappy with the Congress party. The Congress party has been struggling in Telangana in recent years, and Goud may have felt that he had better chances of winning an election with the BRS.

Another possibility is that Goud was pressured by the BRS to rejoin the party. The BRS is the ruling party in Telangana, and it has a lot of power and influence. Goud may have felt that he had no choice but to rejoin the BRS if he wanted to stay in politics.

What does this mean for the upcoming Telangana elections?

Goud’s return to the BRS is a boost for the party ahead of the upcoming Telangana elections. The BRS is already the frontrunner in the elections, and Goud’s return will make it even more difficult for the other parties to defeat the BRS.

The Congress party is particularly hurt by Goud’s return to the BRS. The Congress was hoping to make a comeback in the upcoming elections, but Goud’s return to the BRS makes it more difficult for the Congress to win seats.
It remains to be seen whether Goud will be able to win the LB Nagar constituency in the upcoming elections.

However, his return to the BRS is a positive development for the party and a setback for the Congress.

CM KCR Labels Congress for Past Violence and Lust for Power

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, also known as KCR, has been criticizing the Congress for its history of violence and its relentless pursuit of power, even as the party is facing internal divisions. KCR, who leads the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), urged the public to reject the Congress as a message to leaders who have not shown dedication to Telangana and its citizens.

During public rallies in Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda, and Devarakonda constituencies, KCR highlighted the Congress’s past actions, including events dating back to 1956 when seven individuals opposing the merger of Telangana with Andhra were killed in police confrontations. He reminded the people of Huzurnagar about the injustices suffered by Telangana during the Congress’s rule in the former Andhra Pradesh, as well as the Congress’s failure to protect Telangana’s interests during the state’s bifurcation, especially concerning the distribution of river water, which negatively affected Telangana’s farmers.

In response to N Uttam Kumar Reddy’s remarks, KCR clarified that he never claimed to have built Nagarjuna Sagar but had emphasized the Congress’s failure to protect Telangana’s interests related to water resources management.

KCR pointed out the BRS’s commitment to fighting for Telangana’s rights within the Assembly, emphasizing that when he demanded water for drought-affected crops in Huzurnagar, the state government quickly released water the next day. He contrasted this with the lack of a strong response from Congress leaders when a former Chief Minister threatened to withhold funds from Telangana.

KCR also mocked the Congress for its internal strife, describing it as a party with numerous Chief Ministerial candidates in Telangana, focused more on personal ambitions than the welfare of the people. He urged voters to choose a party that fulfills its promises and prioritizes the region’s interests over Congress leaders who seek personal gains and contracts.

He criticized top Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, for their plans to scrap the Dharani land records management portal, suggesting that Congress candidates’ victory would lead to land issues for farmers and the denial of farmer welfare programs.

KCR reiterated that violent attacks on BRS leaders would not be tolerated, mentioning the recent knife attack on Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy. He asked people to consider their votes carefully, emphasizing that elections where the people win are the true elections that will bring justice to all. He concluded that the Congress, which he believes has not cared for the people, would not win the upcoming November 30 polls.
