Telangana CM’s Rs 2 Lakh Relief for Swiggy Exec

Telangana CM Offers Rs 2 Lakh Relief to Family of Swiggy Delivery Executive Killed by Dog

Hyderabad, Telangana: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has extended Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to the family of a Swiggy delivery executive who tragically died four months ago after being chased by a dog while delivering food.

The announcement came on Saturday, following a meeting between the Chief Minister and gig workers at Nampally Exhibition Grounds on the previous Saturday. During the meeting, Rao learned about the struggles faced by the deceased executive’s family and promptly instructed officials to provide them with Rs 2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The family visited the BR Ambedkar Secretariat on Saturday to meet the Chief Minister and receive assistance. They conveyed their profound appreciation to Rao for his prompt and kind assistance, which will surely provide them with much-needed comfort during this trying time.

The Chief Minister’s action demonstrates his care for gig workers’ welfare and his dedication to helping them when they need it. It also sends a strong message of empathy and responsibility towards those who provide essential services like food delivery, often facing challenging and sometimes hazardous conditions.

The event highlights worries about delivery workers’ safety once more because they are frequently at risk of mishaps and assaults while at work. It is crucial to implement measures to ensure their protection, such as providing training on how to handle stray animals and advocating for better working conditions and insurance coverage for gig workers.

The Telangana government’s swift action in providing assistance to the Swiggy executive’s family is commendable and serves as a positive example for other states to follow. This gesture not only alleviates the immediate financial burden on the family but also demonstrates the government’s commitment to standing by its citizens in times of need.

It is hoped that this occurrence would lead to additional conversations and actions to enhance the security and welfare of gig workers throughout India. When we work together, we can make the area more secure and safe for those who regularly deliver essential services.

I-T Raids at Congress Leaders’ Houses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, November 2, 2023: The Income Tax Department (I-T) on Thursday conducted searches at the houses of several Congress leaders in Hyderabad, ahead of the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. The searches were reportedly carried out in connection with alleged tax evasion and other financial irregularities.

Among the leaders whose houses were searched were Badangpet Mayor and Congress leader Chigirintha Parijatha Narasimha Reddy, and her husband Narasimha Reddy, who is a former MLA. Other Congress leaders whose houses were searched included former MLA Laxma Reddy and his brother, former MLA Vijay Reddy.

The I-T searches sparked strong reactions from the Congress party, which accused the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of political vendetta. Congress Telangana unit President Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the raids were aimed at intimidating the opposition party and preventing it from campaigning effectively in the upcoming elections.

The TRS and the BJP are scared of the Congress and are using the I-T department to target our leaders. But we will not be cowed down by these tactics. We will continue to fight for the people of Telangana and expose the misrule of the TRS government,” Reddy said.

The TRS and the BJP denied the allegations of political vendetta, saying that the I-T searches were carried out based on credible information about tax evasion and other financial irregularities. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said that the government had no role in the raids and that the I-T department was an independent agency.

The I-T searches have come at a time when the Congress party is trying to build momentum for its campaign in the Telangana Assembly elections. The elections are scheduled to be held on November 30, 2023.

Telangana Election 2023: BRS Predicted to Win With 72-75 Seats

A survey by Janta Ka Mood Political Research and Consultancy has found that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is likely to win the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections with 72 to 75 seats, while the Congress is expected to win 31 to 36 seats. The AIMIM and BJP are projected to win 6 to 7 seats and 4 to 6 seats respectively.

The survey found that the BRS is leading in terms of vote share with 41 percent, followed by the Congress with 34 percent, the BJP with 14 percent, and the AIMIM with 3 percent.

The report also found that there are 18 Assembly seats where there could be very close contests between the BRS, BJP, and Congress.

The report attributed the BRS‘ popularity to the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, as well as the party’s popular schemes for farmers, youth, women, and other groups.

The report also found that the Congress is bogged down by internal rivalry and lacks a strong face to match Chandrashekhar Rao’s popularity.

The BJP, meanwhile, is suffering from groupism and internal rivalry between groups led by Bandi Sanjay and G Kishan Reddy.

Overall, the survey suggests that the BRS is well-positioned to win the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections.

Komatireddy Brothers’ Secret Pact with Congress-BJP Exposed, Says Harish Rao

Finance Minister T Harish Rao has accused the Komatireddy brothers of having a secret pact with the Congress-BJP to defeat the BRS in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. He said that the return of Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy to the Congress was proof of this pact.

Harish Rao pointed out that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who is still in the Congress, had worked for the victory of his brother Rajgopal Reddy when he contested on a BJP ticket in Munugode by-election. He said that neither the Congress nor the BJP took any action against the two brothers, which is clear evidence of their secret pact.

The Minister also alleged that the Congress and BJP are working together to damage the credibility of the BRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said that the two parties have joined hands in New Delhi to defeat ‘Telangana bidda’ KCR.

Harish Rao also claimed that BJP State president G Kishan Reddy and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy are talking to each other every day over phone to set a collective agenda to defeat the BRS. He said that Kishan Reddy would send many BJP leaders into the Congress ahead of the elections.

The Minister urged the people of Telangana to be aware of the Congress-BJP pact and vote for the BRS in the upcoming elections.

Siddipet: Inspiration for the Telangana Model of Development

Siddipet: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) has said that Siddipet, the constituency he represents, is the inspiration for the Telangana model of development.

Speaking at a public meeting in Siddipet on Tuesday, KCR said that the Telangana model of development is based on the principle of inclusive growth, with a focus on providing basic necessities such as water, electricity, and irrigation to all sections of society.

He said that the Siddipet drinking water scheme, which he initiated as Siddipet MLA, inspired the state government’s flagship Mission Bhagiratha programme. He also recalled the challenges he faced in digging borewells for farmers in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, which inspired him to initiate the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.

KCR also said that the Dalit Bandhu programme, which provides financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh to each Dalit family, was inspired by an incident in Siddipet where he helped a Dalit woman purchase a bicycle for her son-in-law.

KCR said that he is proud to represent Siddipet and that he will continue to work for the development of the constituency and the state of Telangana.

BRS Confident of Hat-trick Win in Telangana Assembly Elections

Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Friday called upon the BRS leaders and cadre to gear up to make the party win the consecutive third assembly election. He expressed confidence that the people would stand with the BRS to back its welfare schemes and development programmes.

Jagadish Reddy said that the BRS government’s welfare schemes, particularly those meant for farmers, were role models for the entire country. He also praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for making Telangana top in welfare and development in the country within a short span of time.

He said that Telangana had witnessed unprecedented development in the last nine years, which was more than what was achieved in the six decades of Congress rule. Before 2014, getting Rs 1 lakh for development in a village was a big task, but now villages were getting crores of rupees.

Jagadish Reddy said that the BRS government had opened up a new tradition of selecting the beneficiaries of welfare schemes irrespective of their political affiliation. Earlier, the ruling party cadre was also accorded priority in the selection of the beneficiaries, he reminded.

He asked the party cadre to mingle with the people and explain the welfare schemes of the BRS government to them. He also urged the BRS leaders to put aside their differences, if any, and strive for the victory of the party candidates in the ensuing elections.

Kamareddy and Gajwel Wait for KCR’s Knockout

The next 50 days in Kamareddy and Gajwel will be a whirlwind of activity, as the BRS launches a campaign blitzkrieg to ensure a record majority for its candidate, K Chandrashekhar Rao.

The BJP is said to be preparing to field Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajender from Gajwel and Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri from Kamareddy. The party has reportedly assured the leaders that if they do not win, they will be given a chance to contest the Lok Sabha elections next year.

While the BJP may try to make some noise, the Congress is in a shambles. The party is silent, uncertain, and devoid of any fighting spirit. Eight candidates, including former MLA Narsa Reddy, have applied for tickets from Gajwel, and there is rampant infighting.

Though there was some talk that top Congress leaders like TPCC president A Revanth Reddy should contest from these constituencies to boost the cadre’s morale, leaders point out that the party’s big guns are busy securing for themselves constituencies where there wouldn’t be much of risk for them.

In conclusion, KCR is expected to win easily in both Kamareddy and Gajwel. The BJP may try to make some noise, but the Congress is in no position to challenge the BRS.
