KTR Reaches Out to RWAs, Urges Support for Car Symbol for Continued Development

Hyderabad: In a bid to garner support ahead of the upcoming elections, K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the BRS party, held a conference call with representatives of Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) on Friday. During the call, he highlighted the progress achieved by the government in the last nine and a half years and implored the participants to vote for the car symbol to ensure the continuation of development.

Switching between English, Telugu, and Hindi, Rao, like any true Hyderabadi, spoke about the significant improvements in waste collection, which has increased from 3500 tonnes per day to 7500 tonnes per day. He also mentioned the successful implementation of round-the-clock electricity, the construction of flyovers and bridges as part of the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), and the Hyderabad Metro as examples of the government’s progress.

Furthermore, Rao highlighted the government’s efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the city through the installation of CCTV cameras and the establishment of citizen-friendly policing initiatives such as Bharosa Centres. He also mentioned the TS-iPASS and TS-bPASS initiatives, aimed at streamlining the process of obtaining business and building permits, as well as the government’s commitment to preserving the heritage of Hyderabad.

My dream has always been to provide 24×7 water supply to the citizens of Hyderabad. Additionally, we are working towards expanding the metro lines from 70 km to 250 km. Flood management and sewerage management will also be key areas of focus in the next term,” said Rao. He further added that the Musi beautification project is set to be taken up, showcasing the government’s commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and environment.

Chicken Sales Skyrocket as Telangana Parties Host Lavish Feasts

Hyderabad, Telangana:  With Telangana elections just around the corner, political campaigns are in full swing, and parties are pulling out all the stops to attract voters. In a rather unusual tactic, some parties have resorted to hosting lavish non-veg feasts, leading to a surge in chicken sales across the state.

A prominent party leader from Mancherial has garnered attention for his daily practice of feeding hundreds of people at his residence. This MLA candidate reportedly orders and prepares around 400-500 kg of chicken each day, transforming his house into a makeshift banquet hall.

This extravagant display of generosity is not an isolated incident. Candidates from other constituencies are also following suit, ordering and preparing 100-200 kg of chicken daily to feed their supporters and the general public attending their rallies.

The surge in demand has had a significant impact on the local chicken market. Estimates suggest that up to 2 tonnes of chicken are being sold in Telangana every day, a remarkable increase in consumption.

While these non-veg feasts may seem like a harmless way to woo voters, some critics have raised concerns about the ethical implications of such practices. They argue that these lavish gatherings could potentially induce or influence voters, undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

Moreover, the environmental impact of these feasts cannot be ignored. The production and consumption of meat have a significant carbon footprint, and the disposal of food waste from these events further exacerbates environmental concerns.

As the Telangana elections approach, it remains to be seen whether these non-veg feasts will have a lasting impact on voter behaviour. However, one thing is certain: the demand for chicken in Telangana is soaring, and the poultry industry is reaping the benefits.

Andole BJP Candidate’s Son Joins BRS

Sangareddy, Telangana: In a surprise move, Uday Babu Mohan, the son of Andole BJP MLA candidate and cine actor Babu Mohan, has joined the Bharata Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Uday, who was also hoping to contest on the BJP ticket, was reportedly disappointed when the party decided to field his father for a second consecutive term.

Uday and his close associates in the Andole BJP Party formally joined the BRS in the presence of Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran, and others in Siddipet on Sunday. This move has come as a blow to the BJP, which is already struggling to make headway in Telangana.

The BJP cadre has alleged that Babu Mohan has been working behind the scenes to support the Congress candidate, Damodara Raja Narasimha. This allegation has further strained the relationship between Uday and his father.

The BRS has welcomed Uday’s decision to join the party and has promised to give him a prominent role in the upcoming elections. Uday is expected to campaign actively for the BRS candidate in Andole.

The BJP has not yet responded to Uday’s decision to join the BRS. However, it is clear that this move will have a significant impact on the upcoming elections in Andole.

Ram Mohan Goud Returns to BRS

Hyderabad: Barely two weeks after joining the Congress, Muddugouni Ram Mohan Goud on Wednesday rejoined the BRS party in the presence of senior leader and Minister T Harish Rao. His wife and former corporator Lakshmi Pasanna Goud and other leaders also joined the BRS.

Goud was the BRS candidate in the 2018 elections and lost to Congress candidate D. Sudheer Reddy, who later defected to the BRS along with other Congress MLAs. Goud had joined the Congress in the presence of TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy on October 12.

Why did Goud rejoin the BRS?

There are a few possible reasons why Goud may have rejoined the BRS. One possibility is that he was unhappy with the Congress party. The Congress party has been struggling in Telangana in recent years, and Goud may have felt that he had better chances of winning an election with the BRS.

Another possibility is that Goud was pressured by the BRS to rejoin the party. The BRS is the ruling party in Telangana, and it has a lot of power and influence. Goud may have felt that he had no choice but to rejoin the BRS if he wanted to stay in politics.

What does this mean for the upcoming Telangana elections?

Goud’s return to the BRS is a boost for the party ahead of the upcoming Telangana elections. The BRS is already the frontrunner in the elections, and Goud’s return will make it even more difficult for the other parties to defeat the BRS.

The Congress party is particularly hurt by Goud’s return to the BRS. The Congress was hoping to make a comeback in the upcoming elections, but Goud’s return to the BRS makes it more difficult for the Congress to win seats.
It remains to be seen whether Goud will be able to win the LB Nagar constituency in the upcoming elections.

However, his return to the BRS is a positive development for the party and a setback for the Congress.
