CM KCR to kickstart poll campaign from Husnabad on October 15

Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrashekhar Rao will kickstart his poll campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections from Husnabad constituency on October 15. He will cover at least two-three constituencies every day over the next 17 days in a span of one month.

The first spell of the poll campaign will culminate on November 9, with Chandrashekhar Rao filing his nomination at Gajwel and Kamareddy constituencies, followed by a public meeting at Kamareddy on the same day.

CM KCR is all set to kickstart the poll campaign from Husnabad, as he launched the poll campaign from Husnabad twice earlier in 2014 and 2018 which catapulted the BRS (the then TRS) to power. He is hoping to continue the tradition and commence his campaign from Husnabad once more, maintaining the party’s unbeaten streak for third consecutive term.

 

Hyderabad Customs destroys narcotic drugs worth Rs 468 crores in fight against smuggling

Hyderabad: As part of the fight against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Hyderabad Customs destroyed 216.69 kg of drugs worth Rs 468.02 crores on Tuesday.

The drugs, which included heroin, mephedrone, and ganja, were seized from passengers of Nigerian, Beninese, Tanzanian, South African, and Indian origin at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, and other domestic places by the officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Hyderabad Customs.

The drugs were destroyed by way of incineration at the facility available at M/s Hyderabad Waste Management Project located at Dundigal Village, Medchal Malkajgiri District, Telangana.

Apart from the drugs, Hyderabad Customs also destroyed 40 lakh smuggled cigarette sticks which were seized from passengers arriving from various countries at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. These cigarettes did not carry the statutory health warning mandated by the Government of India and were considered harmful.

Hyderabad Customs has said that it is committed to fighting against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and in the prevention of smuggling of contraband.

 

Mindspace at Madhapur, Hyderabad to undergo major redevelopment

Mindspace at Madhapur, Hyderabad, a bustling IT hub, is set for a remarkable transformation in the years to come. The Mindspace REIT Annual Report for the fiscal year 2023 outlines a roadmap for major redevelopment projects, including the redevelopment of Blocks 1A and 1B, buildings 7 and 8, and the creation of the Mindspace Madhapur Experience Centre.

Spanning a leasable area of 0.13 million square feet, the center will feature thoughtfully designed workspaces, food courts, gyms, spas, indoor games, and fine-dining restaurants.

Madhapur is the most preferred micro-market in Hyderabad, consistently garnering nearly two-thirds of net absorption every year. This statistic underscores the enduring appeal of the business park as a prime destination for businesses seeking to establish or expand their presence in the city.

The major redevelopment projects at Mindspace at Madhapur are poised to redefine the skyline of Hyderabad and reshape the landscape of the business district. The new workspaces and amenities will offer businesses and employees a state-of-the-art environment to work, thrive, and relax.

 

Telangana Government Unveils EHCT for Cashless Health Insurance

Telangana, Hyderabad: In a significant move towards providing cashless health insurance coverage for government employees, their families, and pensioners enrolled in the Employees Health Scheme (EHS), the Telangana government has officially introduced the Employee Health Care Trust (EHCT).

Under this new initiative, both employees and pensioners will make monthly contributions to the EHCT, with the specified amount automatically deducted from their salaries or pension disbursements. Additionally, the Telangana government will match these contributions, effectively doubling the resources available to the Trust.

The EHCT will be overseen by a Board of Trustees responsible for offering policy recommendations to the Telangana Government. Furthermore, the state government intends to appoint a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the implementation of the New Employees’ Health Scheme in the near future.

Detailed guidelines outlining the operational specifics of the program will be issued separately by the state government in the coming days. This development represents a significant step towards ensuring comprehensive health coverage for government employees and pensioners in Telangana.

India’s First Law Enforcement CISO Council Launched

Telangana Police Launches India’s First Law Enforcement CISO Council

The Telangana Police, with support from the IT industry and academia, launched the Law Enforcement CISO (Chief Information Security Officers) Council on Saturday. This is the first-of-its-kind initiative in India.

The council is a beacon of cybersecurity in Telangana, said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary IT and Industries. He noted that cybersecurity breaches are multiplying and will continue to grow as more people come online. Individuals or enterprises, no one is an exception to cyber threats and frauds,” he said.

The council will provide a platform for CISOs from the government, industry, and academia to share intelligence and collaborate on cybersecurity initiatives. It will also work with the IT department and other centers of excellence in the state to develop and implement cybersecurity best practices.

Telangana is home to many firsts in the country, and the CISO Council is another example, said DGP Anjani Kumar. “The definition of crime is changing fast. There is no jurisdiction in cybercrimes. This now poses a lot of challenges for police,” he said.

TSPSC Group-IV Final Key Released

TSPSC Group-IV Final Key Released: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has released the final key for the Group-IV exam. The exam was held on July 1 for 8,180 posts.

After verifying the objections raised by candidates, the TSPSC has removed eight questions from Paper-I and changed the options for another eight questions. From Paper-II, two questions have been removed and the options for five questions have been changed.

Candidates can download the final key from the TSPSC website at tspsc.gov.in.

What to do next?

Candidates who have appeared for the TSPSC Group-IV exam can now calculate their estimated scores using the final key. The TSPSC is expected to release the results of the exam soon.

Candidates who are shortlisted based on their scores in the written exam will be called for an interview.

Telangana attracts Rs. 2800 crore investment from Kaynes Technology for compound semiconductor unit

Telangana is emerging as a preferred destination for electronics manufacturing units, with Kaynes Technology setting up its OSAT and compound semiconductor manufacturing facility in the state with an investment of Rs. 2800 crore.

The unit, which will generate employment for 2000 people, will come up at Kongara Kalan, which is also housing Foxconn and Corning units.

Industries Minister KT Rama Rao welcomed Kaynes Technology for setting up the facility in Telangana, saying that it was a proud moment for the state to join the league of coveted global destinations that host the semiconductor industry.

The Kaynes unit would be set up in 40 acres and the management was very aggressive in its plans. Going by their speed, the unit would commence its operations in 12 to 18 months, an official associated with the development said.

Implications

The establishment of Kaynes Technology’s compound semiconductor unit in Telangana is a significant development for the state’s electronics manufacturing sector. Compound semiconductors are used in a wide range of applications, including 5G, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles. The new unit will help to position Telangana as a leading hub for the development and manufacturing of these cutting-edge technologies.

Telangana Launches Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for Government School Students

IT Minister KT Rama Rao launched the Telangana government’s Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for government school students at Government High School for Girls, West Marredpally, Hyderabad on Friday.

After greeting students, Rama Rao had breakfast with them in the dining hall. The inaugural breakfast menu included Idli with sambar, puri and alu kurma, upma and chutney, and kesari sweet.

Rama Rao described the breakfast as nutritious and read out the day-wise breakfast menu. He asked the students to call up officials if they do not get food as per the menu.

Rama Rao, who is also MA&UD Minister, directed the GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose to ensure that quality is maintained and food samples are tested frequently. He also asked teachers to give their feedback.

The breakfast scheme was also launched at one school in each assembly constituency. Finance Minister T Harish Rao, along with Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, commenced the scheme at ZPHS Raviryal in Ranga Reddy district. The scheme will be expanded to all schools after Dasara vacation.

The Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme is a unique initiative by the Telangana government to provide nutritious food to government school students. The scheme is aimed at improving the health and well-being of students, and to help them focus on their studies.

Goldman Sachs Opens New Office in Hyderabad, India

IT Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated a new state-of-the-art office of Goldman Sachs in Hyderabad, India on Thursday. The office will serve as a Centre of Excellence for the firm’s client onboarding efforts, platform engineering, and global enterprise partnerships.

Goldman Sachs began operations in Hyderabad in March 2021 with a focus on engineering, finance, human capital management, consumer business services, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The new office, located in Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City, has a capacity of 2,500 professionals.

Minister Rao said that the opening of the new office reflects Telangana’s commitment to attracting and supporting multinational firms. “This will contribute to our existing vibrant ecosystem of global companies and startups here and create global opportunities for the local talent,” he said.

Goldman Sachs International CEO Richard Gnodde said that the company’s growth story in India is compelling and enabled by the country’s extraordinary talent. Over the last two decades, Bengaluru and Hyderabad have become integral to the firm’s global activities. Our new Hyderabad office is a testament to the firm’s continued commitment to Indian talent, which is world-class.

Goldman Sachs Services India Country Head Gunjan Samtani said that in just two years, the company’s teams in Hyderabad have established deep competencies driving enhanced client experience and revenue enablement.

The new office is designed to be sustainable and eco-friendly. This year, an additional 40 electric vehicles will be added to the existing fleet of 190 vehicles in the Hyderabad employee commutation programme, with onsite electric charging infrastructure. Separately, about 70 percent of products procured for the office interiors were sourced from local vendors.

Collectively with the Bengaluru office, India has the largest presence of Goldman Sachs globally outside its New York headquarters.

KT Rama Rao announces 1 lakh more double bedroom houses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao announced that the state government will construct one lakh more double-bedroom houses in Hyderabad, in addition to the one lakh houses already constructed.

Of the one lakh houses already constructed, 60,000 have already been allotted to eligible beneficiaries.

The Minister said that he will take up the appeal to construct one lakh more double-bedroom houses with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for the benefit of the poor and homeless.

Rama Rao also announced that the Chief Minister has instructed the government to initiate measures for supplying water daily and round the clock in the city.

He said that the state government is focused on improving basic infrastructure in Hyderabad, including roads, nalas, and the drainage network.

The Minister appealed to the people not to get carried away by the false promises made by the Congress and BJP. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions to Telangana in the last nine years are a big zero, and so is his contribution to the construction of Amaravathi in Andhra Pradesh.

Rama Rao said that the state government has spent Rs.933 crore on improving water supply and infra works in the Kukatpally constituency alone. He said that 50 percent of the works are completed and 50 percent needs to be taken up.

The Minister also announced that the state government will shortly sanction Rs.5000 crore for the SNDP Phase II program after completing the SNDP Phase I program.

Vinay Bhaskar also said that the BRS had no business with the BJP and that the party did not have to join the NDA alliance. He challenged the BJP to fulfil the promises made to Telangana during the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh if the party loves the people of the State. Vinay Bhaskar also predicted that the BJP would not get deposits in the upcoming elections and that the party’s existing MLAs would also lose.

Baswaraj Saraiah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on Minister KT Rama Rao were not correct. He also said all the people of the country were looking towards Telangana.

Sabir Ahmed, a man from Hyderabad, killed his brother Sajid Ahmed on Wednesday night over a personal grudge. The incident happened at Basava Taraka Nagar Filmnagar.

Sabir suspected that his wife was being harassed by Sajid and confronted him. An argument took place between them on Wednesday night and later the suspect stabbed Sajid to death, said the police.
