Delhi Burger King Murder: CCTV Shows Shocking Chase

Chilling CCTV Footage Shows Burger King Murder in Delhi

New Delhi: June 20, 2024

Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged from a Burger King outlet in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, capturing the brutal shooting of a man on Tuesday evening. The video shows the victim, identified as Aman Joon, being chased and shot multiple times by a group of men.

According to reports, around 40 rounds were fired at Joon. The footage shows him attempting to flee behind the counter as the attackers, dressed in orange and white shirts, relentlessly pursue him. Panicked customers are seen scrambling for safety as the gunmen unload their weapons.

Adding to the chilling scene is the presence of a woman who was reportedly sitting with Joon before the attack. The footage shows her walking out of the restaurant calmly amidst the gunfire, raising questions about her potential involvement.

Police are currently investigating the incident and suspect the motive may be linked to a gang rivalry or revenge for a past murder. The different calibers of bullets recovered from the scene suggest the use of multiple weapons, possibly by more than two attackers.

The brazen daylight shooting has sparked concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the capital. Police are analyzing the CCTV footage to identify the attackers and the woman seen with the victim.

Drunk teen kills boy for Biryani, dances with knife

New Delhi: A shocking video of a brutal murder in east Delhi’s Janta Mazdoor Colony on Tuesday night has emerged, showing a drunk 16-year-old boy stabbing another teen over 55 times, slitting his throat, dragging his body on the road and dancing with a knife in his hand.

Police said on Thursday that they have arrested the accused, who did not have any prior acquaintance with the 17-year-old victim, whom he had asked for money to buy biryani. The accused has confessed to the crime and the murder weapon has been recovered, they said.

Where he got the knife from is being probed,” said Joy Tirkey, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast).

The incident happened around 11.15 pm on Tuesday. The victim was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The CCTV footage of the crime shows the accused boy pulling a person along a narrow lane and stabbing him repeatedly.

“He was not satisfied with that. He was seen dancing while committing the heinous act. A person tried to open a door to see what was going on, but the accused warned him by waving a knife,” said an official who is part of the investigation.

The trigger for the murder was the victim’s refusal to buy biryani for the accused, which enraged him. They had a verbal argument, which soon escalated into a physical fight.

The accused overpowered the victim, who was 17 years old and lived in Jafrabad. He first strangled him till he lost consciousness and then took out a small knife from his pocket and stabbed him multiple times. He then dragged him to a lane where he continued to stab him on his face, neck, back, under his eyes more than 55 times,” the official said.

He added that the accused was shouting at people to keep away. “The accused was drunk at the time of the incident,” he said.
The horror did not end there.

“We were also shocked… the accused after the whole act grabbed the dead body by the hair and dragged him back to the same narrow area. He stole Rs 350 from the victim and ran away. We have already caught the accused, who has admitted his guilt and the weapon of murder has been found,” the official said.

The CCTV footage helped us to identify the accused who was arrested by the police team without delay,” said DCP Tirkey.

Delhi’s Odd-Even Vehicle Scheme: What to Know?

The odd-even vehicle scheme is a traffic control measure implemented by the Delhi government to reduce air pollution in the city. The scheme works by allowing vehicles with registration numbers ending in odd digits to ply on odd dates, and vehicles with registration numbers ending in even digits to ply on even dates. The scheme is typically implemented for a period of one or two weeks, during times when air pollution levels are high.

The odd-even vehicle scheme was first implemented in Delhi in 2016 and has been implemented several times since then. The scheme has been credited with reducing air pollution levels in the city by up to 20%. However, the scheme has also been criticized for being inconvenient and disruptive to people’s lives.

How does the odd-even vehicle scheme work?

Under the odd-even vehicle scheme, vehicles are allowed to ply on the roads on alternate days, based on their registration numbers. On odd days, only vehicles with registration numbers ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are allowed to ply. On even days, only vehicles with registration numbers ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 are allowed to ply.

The odd-even vehicle scheme is enforced from 8 am to 8 pm, from Monday to Saturday. Violators of the scheme are fined Rs. 2,000.

What are the exemptions to the odd-even vehicle scheme?

The following categories of vehicles are exempt from the odd-even vehicle scheme:

Electric and hybrid vehicles

Two-wheelers

Vehicles driven by women

Emergency vehicles, such as ambulances and fire trucks

Public transport vehicles, such as buses and taxis

Vehicles carrying essential goods, such as food and medicine

How effective is the odd-even vehicle scheme at reducing air pollution?

Studies have shown that the odd-even vehicle scheme can be effective at reducing air pollution levels in Delhi. A study by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi found that the scheme reduced PM2.5 levels in the city by 20% during the first phase of implementation in 2016.

However, the effectiveness of the scheme can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the weather conditions and the level of compliance with the scheme. For example, the scheme is less effective during the winter months, when air pollution levels are typically higher.

Conclusion

The odd-even vehicle scheme is a controversial measure, but it has been shown to be effective at reducing air pollution levels in Delhi. The scheme is typically implemented during times when air pollution levels are high and is typically lifted after a period of one or two weeks.

Nepal earthquake today: Strong tremors felt across northern India

Earthquake Today: November 4, 2023: A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday, sending strong tremors across northern India, including the capital Delhi. The epicenter of the quake was located in Dipayal district in western Nepal, at a depth of 5 kilometers.

People in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Lucknow, and other cities in northern India reported feeling the tremors for several seconds. Many people rushed out of their homes and offices in fear.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage in India, but officials said they were assessing the situation.

Nepal is located in a seismically active region and is prone to earthquakes. In 2015, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal, killing over 8,000 people and injuring over 21,000.

Experts say that the earthquake on Saturday was likely caused by the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The collision of these plates is what created the Himalayas and is also responsible for the frequent earthquakes in the region.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) in India has warned people to be prepared for aftershocks. The NCS has also issued a list of safety tips in case of an earthquake, including:

Stay calm and do not panic. If you are indoors, drop down under a sturdy table or desk and cover your head and neck with your arms.

If you are outdoors, move to an open area away from buildings and trees.

Do not use elevators.

After the earthquake, check for injuries and damage to your home or workplace.

If you see any damage, do not enter the building until it has been inspected by a qualified professional.
