Former MP Urges Action Against Congress for MLA Office Vandalism

Former MP Calls for Action Against Congress Activists for Vandalizing MLA Camp Offices

Hyderabad: Former Member of Parliament (MP) B Vinod Kumar expressed strong disapproval on Monday regarding the defacement of MLA camp offices in various Assembly constituencies across Telangana. He accused Congress activists of carrying out these attacks and urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to take necessary action against the assailants.

Calls for Legal Action

Kumar highlighted the lack of common sense among the Congress activists, emphasizing that the targeted camp offices are public properties meant for the newly elected MLAs. He called for the registration of criminal cases against the assailants and demanded the immediate restoration of the plaques.

Rising Incidents of Attacks

In recent days, incidents have been reported where Congress activists attacked camp office-cum-residences of local MLAs, destroying plaques that featured the names of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and other BRS leaders during building inaugurations. These camp office-cum-residences, constructed by the previous BRS government, are present in all 119 constituencies.

Eyewitness Accounts at Telangana Bhavan

Accompanied by former MLAs D Vinay Bhaskar and Guvvala Balaraju at Telangana Bhavan, Vinod Kumar shared accounts of Congress activists storming into camp offices in Hanamkonda and Atchampet. The activists attempted to ransack the premises, armed with hammers, breaking down plaques and causing damage to the buildings. Kumar expressed concern about the unprecedented nature of such attacks, questioning whether the Chief Minister is aware of the situation.

BRS Leaders Strongly Disapprove of Rahul Gandhi’s Statements

Leaders of the BRS expressed their strong disapproval of the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Congress leaders, during their recent visit to Mulugu district. They held a press conference to voice their concerns.

Satyavathi Rathod, the Minister for Tribal, Women, and Child Welfare, criticized Rahul Gandhi’s statements as “unreasonable.” She accused the Congress leaders of making empty promises to mislead people ahead of the upcoming elections.

Rathod questioned why the Congress leaders were suddenly talking about the national status of the Medaram jatara, given that the Congress has been a prominent political party in India for many years. She suggested that people were not taking these hollow promises seriously and were instead laughing at them.

Rathod also challenged the Congress party’s claims about podu lands, arguing that during the Congress’s rule in the state, both tribal and non-tribal communities had faced significant difficulties.

She highlighted the achievements of the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, including the distribution of land titles for over 4.60 lakh acres of podu lands. This distribution even included the parents of Congress MLA Seethakka from Mulugu.

Rathod further dared the Congress to attract at least 10,000 people to their meetings and rallies. She emphasized the progress made in Bhupalapally and Mulugu districts, where tribal settlements had transformed into Gram Panchayats with better infrastructure and services.

Other prominent leaders, such as MPs Maloth Kavitha, Pasunuri Dayakar, MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, and MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, also shared similar disapproval of the comments made by the Congress leaders.

BRS Confident of Hat-trick Win in Telangana Assembly Elections

Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Friday called upon the BRS leaders and cadre to gear up to make the party win the consecutive third assembly election. He expressed confidence that the people would stand with the BRS to back its welfare schemes and development programmes.

Jagadish Reddy said that the BRS government’s welfare schemes, particularly those meant for farmers, were role models for the entire country. He also praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for making Telangana top in welfare and development in the country within a short span of time.

He said that Telangana had witnessed unprecedented development in the last nine years, which was more than what was achieved in the six decades of Congress rule. Before 2014, getting Rs 1 lakh for development in a village was a big task, but now villages were getting crores of rupees.

Jagadish Reddy said that the BRS government had opened up a new tradition of selecting the beneficiaries of welfare schemes irrespective of their political affiliation. Earlier, the ruling party cadre was also accorded priority in the selection of the beneficiaries, he reminded.

He asked the party cadre to mingle with the people and explain the welfare schemes of the BRS government to them. He also urged the BRS leaders to put aside their differences, if any, and strive for the victory of the party candidates in the ensuing elections.
