KTR Condemns Kejriwal’s Arrest

KTR Condemns Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest

Hyderabad, March 21, 2024 – In a recent development, Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), strongly criticized the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Expressing his disapproval, KTR condemned the actions taken against Kejriwal by authorities. This statement comes amidst growing concerns over the treatment of political figures across the country.

KTR highlighted the need for a more sensitive approach by Ministers towards critical issues affecting farmers. Specifically, he pointed out the challenges faced by farmers in the Nagarjuna Sagar left canal area due to inadequate irrigation facilities. The Minister warned the State government about the repercussions of neglecting the agricultural sector, emphasizing the significant losses incurred by farmers in north Telangana districts due to untimely rains.

Moreover, KTR’s stance reflects a broader sentiment within political circles regarding the treatment of key figures like Arvind Kejriwal. The Minister’s vocal condemnation underscores the importance of upholding democratic values and respecting the rights of elected officials.

As this situation unfolds, it raises questions about the implications of such arrests on political discourse and governance in India. KTR’s firm stance serves as a reminder of the need for transparency, accountability, and fair treatment within the political landscape.

I-T Raids at Congress Leaders’ Houses in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, November 2, 2023: The Income Tax Department (I-T) on Thursday conducted searches at the houses of several Congress leaders in Hyderabad, ahead of the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. The searches were reportedly carried out in connection with alleged tax evasion and other financial irregularities.

Among the leaders whose houses were searched were Badangpet Mayor and Congress leader Chigirintha Parijatha Narasimha Reddy, and her husband Narasimha Reddy, who is a former MLA. Other Congress leaders whose houses were searched included former MLA Laxma Reddy and his brother, former MLA Vijay Reddy.

The I-T searches sparked strong reactions from the Congress party, which accused the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of political vendetta. Congress Telangana unit President Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the raids were aimed at intimidating the opposition party and preventing it from campaigning effectively in the upcoming elections.

The TRS and the BJP are scared of the Congress and are using the I-T department to target our leaders. But we will not be cowed down by these tactics. We will continue to fight for the people of Telangana and expose the misrule of the TRS government,” Reddy said.

The TRS and the BJP denied the allegations of political vendetta, saying that the I-T searches were carried out based on credible information about tax evasion and other financial irregularities. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said that the government had no role in the raids and that the I-T department was an independent agency.

The I-T searches have come at a time when the Congress party is trying to build momentum for its campaign in the Telangana Assembly elections. The elections are scheduled to be held on November 30, 2023.
