Telangana CI Bribery Audio, Video Goes Viral

Telangana: An audio and video allegedly showing a police officer from the Huzurabad division accepting a ₹3 lakh bribe have gone viral on social media, sparking controversy in Karimnagar.

The recordings suggest that the Circle Inspector (CI) accepted the bribe to prevent the registration of a case under the SC/ST Atrocities Act. However, the person in the audio questions why the case was still filed despite the payment.

The caller alleges that they placed the money in the CI’s office washroom, as instructed, and secretly recorded the incident using a pen camera. The caller confronts the officer in the audio, saying, “How could you register an SC/ST atrocity case even after taking ₹3 lakh?”

Local MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has reacted to the viral footage, announcing plans to file complaints with the Director General of Police (DGP), Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General, and Inspector General (IG) against the CI, identified as Ravi.

Reddy criticized the police for engaging in corruption while in uniform, alleging irregularities in both the Jammikunta Circle Office and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office. He called for strict action against the accused officer.

So far, no official response has been issued by the police, and the authenticity of the recordings has not been independently verified.

Meta Tests Sharing Posts From Facebook to Threads, Adding “Trending Topics” Feature

San Francisco, CA – February 23, 2024 – Meta is testing new features for its messaging platform Threads, including the ability to directly share posts from Facebook and a “Trending Topics” section. This news comes as the company aims to further integrate its various platforms and engage users in new ways.

Similar to the existing cross-posting functionality between Facebook and Instagram, users in the iOS test group can now seamlessly share text and link posts from Facebook directly to their Threads contacts. Meta is also piloting a “Trending Topics” feature within Threads, allowing users to see what’s currently generating buzz among other users. This feature mirrors similar functionalities on platforms like Twitter, providing a glimpse into popular conversations and potentially fostering engagement around shared interests.

The initial rollout of both features is limited to iOS users in the US, with broader availability planned once feedback and refinement are gathered. This phased approach allows Meta to optimize the features before wider adoption.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Founder and CEO, announced the test on Threads, stating, “Rolling out a small test of today’s top topics on Threads in the US. We’ll roll it out in more countries and languages once we get it tuned up.”

These new features demonstrate Meta’s continued efforts to enhance user experience and engagement across its platforms. By facilitating easier content sharing and offering a glimpse into trending conversations, Meta aims to keep users connected and foster a more vibrant environment within Threads.

The unveiling took place at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, where Trump presented a pair of gold “NEVER SURRENDER HIGH-TOP SNEAKERS” priced at $399.

Limited Edition Launch: The gold “NEVER SURRENDER” sneakers sold out quickly, with only 1,000 pairs available initially.
More Affordable Options: Two other sneaker designs featuring “T” and “45” are available for $199 each.

Poonam Pandey Fakes Death for Cancer Awareness, Sparks Fury: “Publicity Stunt?”

Poonam Pandey’s Death Hoax Sparks Outrage: Actress Trolled for “Tasteless Gimmick”

Poonam Pandey, the controversial Indian actress, ignited a firestorm on social media this week after faking her own death to raise awareness about cervical cancer. While some lauded her unconventional approach, many netizens were left fuming, calling the stunt “insensitive” and a “publicity gimmick gone wrong.”

The drama unfolded on Friday when Pandey’s Instagram story announced her passing due to cervical cancer. The news sent shockwaves through the industry, with celebrities like singer Sophie Choudry and actress Kangana Ranaut expressing their condolences. However, doubts soon arose, with some netizens pointing out inconsistencies and Pandey’s history of attention-grabbing antics.

Later that day, Pandey herself confirmed the speculation, uploading a video revealing she was very much alive. In subsequent videos, she apologized for the “shock” but defended her actions, claiming it was a necessary shock tactic to bring cervical cancer into the spotlight.

“I am aware that many of you are upset with me,” Pandey said in one video. “But I did this to start a conversation, to make people aware of a disease that takes so many lives silently. I know it was extreme, but isn’t that what it takes to break through the noise?”

However, netizens were far from convinced. Pandey’s social media was flooded with criticism, with many accusing her of disrespecting the dead and trivializing a serious illness.

“This is not just a publicity stunt, it’s a slap in the face to everyone who has lost someone to cancer,” one user commented. “How dare you use such a sensitive topic for your own gain?” echoed another.

Others expressed disappointment and anger, feeling Pandey had eroded her credibility and damaged the cause she claimed to champion.

“I understand wanting to raise awareness,” a user wrote, “but this wasn’t the way. You’ve turned people away from the issue with this tasteless gimmick.”

The controversy surrounding Pandey’s actions highlights the delicate line between attention-grabbing tactics and genuine advocacy. While some may see her approach as bold and innovative, others find it insensitive and counterproductive. The ultimate impact of Pandey’s death hoax remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: it has sparked a heated debate about the ethics of shockvertising and the boundaries of acceptable public discourse.

People in the city are expressing their opinions on Reddit and other social media platforms. Some feel it’s necessary for public safety, while others think Kumari Aunty is facing unfair treatment because of her sudden rise in fame.

KCR Shifted To Yashoda Hospital Due To Leg Injury

Former Telangana Chief Minister KCR Admitted to Yashoda Hospital After Leg Injury

Hyderabad, December 8, 2023: Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad last night following an accidental slip and fall at his farmhouse in Erravelli.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening, leading to KCR experiencing pain in his leg. Swift action was taken, and he was promptly transported to Yashoda Hospital for medical evaluation. As of now, doctors are assessing his condition, and an official statement regarding his health is expected shortly.

News of KCR’s hospitalization has resonated across the political spectrum in Telangana, causing a ripple of concern among political leaders and well-wishers. Many have taken to social media platforms to extend their wishes for the veteran politician’s speedy recovery.

KCR, a prominent figure in Telangana politics, served as the Chief Minister of the state for two consecutive terms from 2014 to 2023. His influence and contributions to the political landscape make his health a matter of public interest.

The duration of KCR’s hospital stay remains uncertain, and it is anticipated that he will undergo observation for the next few days. Further updates on his condition and potential discharge from the hospital will be provided as more information becomes available. The public is urged to respect the privacy of KCR and his family during this time.

Gambling Camps Flourish in Telangana Despite Ban

Despite a ban on gambling in Telangana, gambling camps are operating secretly in swanky apartments and air-conditioned rooms, especially on weekends and holidays. These camps are reportedly operated by certain persons who bribe top police officials every month.

To participate in the gambling at these camps, one has to pay somewhere between Rs 3,000 and 5,000. In addition to gambling, one will also get drinks and food, including premium liquor and non-vegetarian snacks.

Sources said that a realtor and an owner of fertilizers outlet of Kagaznagar reportedly operate the gambling camps in Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts. Some government teachers are also said to be organising these camps in Reddy Colony and other parts of Mancherial district centre.

The menace was exposed only when videos and photographs of these gambling camps were leaked and widely shared on social media platforms. However, no cases were registered and no action was taken against the offenders.

The police department is drawing flak for failing to curb the menace and for ‘indirectly’ encouraging it by accepting monthly bribes.
