Tamannaah Bhatia Stars in “Odela 2,” Directed by Ashok Teja, Commences Filming Today in Kasi

Marking the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2022 OTT success “Odela Railway Station,” filming for “Odela 2” officially kicks off today in the holy city of Kasi.

Directed by the returning Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi, the sequel promises to be a grander affair, boasting a bigger story, wider cast, and elevated production value across all aspects.

Leading the charge is the popular actress Tamannaah Bhatia, taking on the central role in “Odela 2.” Her recent string of successful OTT projects has solidified her national recognition, making her a perfect fit for the film’s potential multilingual release.

The movie, produced by D Madhu under the banners of Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, delves deeper into the village’s rich history and traditions. The narrative revolves around the village’s protector, Odela Mallanna Swamy, and his continued safeguarding against evil forces.

Adding a spiritual touch, the title poster creatively integrates the Trishula (Trident) of Lord Shiva, also revered as Mallanna Swamy. The design subtly forms the image of a Shiva Linga with sacred markings, enhancing the film’s thematic connection.

While further details are awaited, the supporting cast boasts established names like Hebah Patel and Vasishta N Simha. The film will also feature top-notch visual effects and the expertise of renowned technicians in various crafts.

Soundar Rajan S handles the cinematography, while Ajaneesh Loknath, known for his work in “Kantara,” composes the music. Rajeev Nair takes on the role of art director.

Vamsi-Shekar and First Show will manage the film’s public relations and marketing, respectively.

Kaleshwaram Project: Controversy in India

Kaleshwaram Project: Boon or Boondoggle? Controversy Surrounds Ambitious Irrigation Scheme

The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) is a significant irrigation and water supply project in Telangana, India. However, it has been embroiled in controversy due to several factors.

One of the primary concerns is the project’s escalating costs, which have increased from an initial estimate of Rs 38,500 crore to Rs 1.20 lakh crore. The project’s financial viability has also been called into question, as the electricity cost of using massive pumps to lift water from the Godavari River is significantly high, making the cost of irrigation per acre very high.

Another issue is the potential environmental impact of the project, including the displacement of over 15,000 people and the long-term sustainability of the project due to its impact on the already stressed Godavari River.

Furthermore, there have been allegations of corruption and engineering lapses in the project, with the Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanata Party (BRS) government in Telangana being accused of indulging in corruption and poor quality of project work. The BJP and Congress have also criticized the project, with the BJP calling for a CBI probe into the project and the Congress accusing the BRS government of corruption.

In response to these criticisms, the BRS government has maintained that the project is being built with the help of the same contractors that were engaged in the Pranahita Chevella project and has denied any wrongdoing.
In summary, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project has been mired in controversy due to its escalating costs, potential environmental impact, allegations of corruption, and engineering lapses. These issues have led to political debates and protests, with various parties accusing the BRS government of mismanagement and corruption.
