Hyderabad NIMS Anesthesia Professor Suicide Tragedy

In Hyderabad, a tragic incident unfolded as Dr. Prachikar, aged 46 and residing in Bhramanwadi, Begumpet, took her own life by administering anesthesia to herself. Dr. Prachikar was an Additional Professor in the Anesthesia Department at NIMS, Punjagutta. The distressing event occurred at her residence in Begumpet on Friday night.

According to police sources, Dr. Prachikar’s family members discovered her unconscious and promptly rushed her to the hospital. Despite efforts by medical professionals, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Begumpet police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dr. Prachikar’s death. As of now, the motive behind her decision to end her life remains unclear. Authorities have assured that they are exploring all possible aspects related to the incident.

Hyderabad: Two Separate Suicides Reported

 

Two incidents of suicide were reported in Hyderabad on Friday.

  • Gayathri Thakur, a 29-year-old resident of Chandanagar, was found dead by hanging at her parental home. According to police, Gayathri had returned to her parents’ place two weeks prior. The family suspects she might have been battling depression following the death of her brother in a road accident two years ago.
  • In a separate incident, 23-year-old K Shrunith from Balanagar died by suicide. Police reported that Shrunith, who attended singing classes and performed at gatherings, demanded Rs. 10 lakh from his father for reasons related to singing. When his father couldn’t provide the money, Shrunith hanged himself at home.

Police have registered cases in both incidents and are investigating further.

E Naresh (33), a resident of Kothapet in Chaitanyapuri, died by suicide on Saturday. Police say marital issues may have contributed to the tragedy.

Naresh, who had been working in New Zealand since March 2023, returned to Hyderabad recently. Upon his return, he reportedly requested his wife Sirisha (married in 2020) to accompany him back to New Zealand. However, Sirisha disagreed, leading to arguments between the couple.

According to Chaitanyapuri police, Naresh fell into depression and tragically ended his life by hanging himself on Saturday morning. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.

According to reports, Manoj had taken out a loan through a mobile application but was unable to keep up with the equated monthly installments (EMIs). This allegedly led loan app executives to pressure him by contacting his family, friends, and relatives from his phone’s contact list.

Unable to bear the harassment and humiliation, Manoj reportedly took his own life by hanging himself in his room. The police are currently investigating the incident, and the body has been sent to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy.

A sad incident happened in Malkajgiri, Hyderabad. A woman named Swaroopa, aged 65, and her son Srikanth, aged 35, were found dead in their home. They lived in Patel Nagar.

Hyderabad: Woman dies by suicide after alleged harassment by husband and in-laws

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old woman in Hyderabad died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by her husband and in-laws for her inability to conceive, police said on Saturday.

The victim, Uday Shree, had been married to Omkar since 2020. For the past eight months, Omkar, reportedly supported by his parents, had been returning home in a drunk state and abusing her for not conceiving.

Police have registered cases for cruelty and abetment to suicide and have started investigations.
