Lakdikapul Night Traffic Diversion for 1 Month

Hyderabad: Month-Long Night Traffic Diversion Begins at Lakdikapul for Drainage Work

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced night-time traffic diversions at Lakdikapul junction due to ongoing drainage construction work being carried out by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). These changes, which started on June 11, will continue for one month, and may extend further based on work progress and site conditions.

The construction is part of GHMC’s plan to lay a new stormwater drain in the area, aimed at solving the recurring waterlogging problem during monsoons. To avoid major daytime traffic disruptions, all construction activities will take place only during the night hours, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily.

Work Zone Details:

The construction will span a stretch of 180 metres, starting from the Intelligence Office and continuing up to Dwaraka Hotel, passing notable landmarks such as Lucky Restaurant and Venkateshwara Hotel (near the old Saifabad Police Station junction).

Traffic Diversions During Work Hours:

  • If work is being carried out near Dwaraka Hotel (Old PS Saifabad):
    • Vehicles coming from Nirankari and heading towards Iqbal Minar will be diverted towards Ravindra Bharathi.
    • Traffic coming from Ravindra Bharathi and heading to Old PS Saifabad will be redirected at Iqbal Minar towards Secretariat Junction.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have requested commuters to cooperate with the diversions and follow traffic signs placed in the affected zones. They have also advised night-time travelers to plan ahead to avoid delays and congestion.
