Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao(KTR), the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has promised strong support to the State government’s efforts to tackle the problem of drugs in the State.

During a session in the Assembly on Saturday, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy requested assistance from all political parties in combating drug use and circulation in Telangana. In response, Rama Rao assured the State government of full support in dealing with the drug menace.

The assurance, however, came after a heated exchange of words. In response, Rama Rao committed to providing 100% support. When the Chief Minister highlighted the drug abuse issues in Punjab, Rama Rao reminded him that the Congress was in power in Punjab before the AAP government, and even mentioned the Bollywood movie “Udta Punjab,” which depicted the drug menace in the state.

Rama Rao also made remarks about the Chief Minister’s appointment under the Payment Quota and obtaining the PCC president post under the same quota, attributing these comments to Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
