Hyderabad: Commuter chaos unfolded at Nampally railway station on Wednesday morning when the Charminar Express, bound for Chennai, derailed upon entering the platform. The incident caused minor injuries to at least five passengers, thankfully without any fatalities.

Slipping off the tracks as it came to a halt, the train partially struck the platform’s sidewall. Reports indicate two bogies were derailed, causing disruption to railway operations.

TSRTC Announces Dasara Festival Lucky Draw with Cash Prizes Worth Rs 11 Lakh

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced a lucky draw for bus users on the occasion of the Dasara festival. Cash prizes worth Rs 11 lakh will be given to 110 winners, with five men and five women selected from each region.

To participate in the lucky draw, passengers need to write their full name and phone number on the back of their ticket and drop it in the drop boxes at bus stops after completing their travel. Passengers who travel in buses between October 21 and 23 and again between October 28 and 30 are eligible to participate. Passengers who have made advance reservations on the respective dates are also eligible.

TSRTC officials said that Bathukamma and Dasara are big festivals in Telangana, and a large number of people travel across the State and neighbouring States during this time. The lucky draw is a way of thanking passengers for their patronage and wishing them a happy festival season.

Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express to Start Commercial Operations from September 25

The Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, India’s fastest train, is all set to start commercial operations from September 25, 2023. The train will cover the distance of 610 km between the two cities in just 7 hours and 30 minutes, making it around 2.5 hours faster than all other trains on the route.

The Vande Bharat Express will depart from Kacheguda station in Hyderabad at 5.30 am and arrive at Yesvantpur station in Bengaluru at 2 pm. In the return direction, the train will leave Yesvantpur station at 2.45 pm and reach Kacheguda station at 11.15 pm.

The train will make stops at Mahbubnagar, Kurnool City, Anantapur, and Dharmavaram stations. It will have a total of eight coaches, including two driving trailer coaches, four motor coaches, and two trailer coaches.

The Vande Bharat Express is equipped with a host of modern features, including:

  • A top speed of 160 km/h
  • Automatic sliding doors
  • Reclining seats with leg rests
  • Onboard entertainment system
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Bio-toilets

The fares for the Vande Bharat Express are yet to be announced, but they are expected to be higher than those of other trains on the route.
