Hyderabad Tragedy: 2 Techies Die in Late-Night Crash After Party

A fun night out turned tragic in Hyderabad when two young techies lost their lives in a car accident. The victims, Bhatula Bhargav Yadav and Chethi Varshith, both 23 years old, died early Sunday morning after their car crashed on the way back from a party.

The group of friends, all software engineers, had gathered at Vihari Nature’s Nest farmhouse on Friday night to celebrate. The party went on till about 2:30 am. After the celebration, the friends headed out in two cars — one driven by a hired driver and the other by Praveen, a friend from the group.

According to reports, the group went looking for food after the party but couldn’t find any open eateries. While returning, the car driven by Praveen, a Hyundai Creta, lost control near Edulabad. The vehicle hit two electric poles and then a tree.

The crash was so intense that the rear passenger door flew open, and Bhargav and Varshith, who were sitting in the back seat, were thrown out. Sadly, both of them died on the spot due to severe injuries.

Police said the crash was likely caused by rash and drunk driving. Liquor bottles were found at the farmhouse, and samples from Praveen have been collected to test for alcohol. The families were informed around 3 am after the second group of friends alerted the police.

A case has been registered against Praveen for causing death by negligence under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to others who were present at the party.
