Hyderabad: In a courageous act of self-defense, a mother and her daughter fought off two chain snatchers in Pahadishareef, Hyderabad, ultimately forcing the robbers to flee and abandon their bike.

The incident occurred during a morning walk when G Kalpana (32) from Mankhal village, along with her daughter Laxmi Prasanna and other local children, was suddenly attacked. One of the robbers threw chilli water on Kalpana’s face and snatched her gold chain.

“He was standing on the pavement. I got off the pavement to avoid him, but he caught hold of me and pulled me into the bushes. He snatched the gold chain from my neck,” Kalpana recounted to Telangana Today.

Despite the shock, Kalpana quickly regained her composure and managed to grab the robber, preventing his escape. The situation escalated when the robber’s accomplice joined the attack, and both men began hitting Kalpana. Her daughter Laxmi came to her aid, and together, they fiercely resisted.

Hyderabad GRP Cracks Malakpet Station Murder, Arrests Culprit for Stealing Victim’s Phone

Hyderabad: Swift action by the Hyderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) has led to the swift resolution of a murder case at Malakpet railway station. Within a few days of the incident, they apprehended the perpetrator, Mohd. Sohail, a 24-year-old daily wage worker from Chaderghat.

Sohail confessed to brutally stabbing the 40-year-old victim, driven by the desire to steal his mobile phone. He callously sold the phone for a mere Rs. 1,700 at MGBS and squandered the money on personal expenses. His past involvement in property crimes across Hyderabad police stations and a maintained history sheet at Chaderghat paint a picture of a repeat offender.

Initially registered as a suspicious death case in Kacheguda, the investigation took a sharp turn after the autopsy confirmed foul play. Leveraging surveillance footage, the GRP swiftly identified and apprehended Sohail at Yakutpura railway station.

While Sohail faces the consequences of his heinous act, the victim’s identity remains unknown. Efforts are ongoing to trace his family and loved ones.
