Man Held for Selling NGO Land Using Fake Documents in Adilabad

Adilabad: Police have arrested a man named Shaik Arbaz in Adilabad for illegally taking over land meant for non-gazetted officers (NGOs) by using fake documents.

According to the police, Arbaz forged land records for 20 acres of land in Kailashnagar, which had been officially allotted to NGO staff back in 1970. He then sold plots from this land to others using the fake papers.

Earlier, four others — Shaik Shami, Syed Imran, Parveen Begum, and Shaik Nurzahan — were also arrested for their role in the same land encroachment case. A case had already been filed against all five.

During questioning, Arbaz admitted that he used forged documents to get house numbers from the local municipality and even paid property tax on the illegal plots to make them seem genuine. He also confessed to selling plots to Syed Imran and Shaik Nurzahan.

In a separate case, Adilabad Rural police arrested another man, Goddala Srinivas, on Monday for occupying land using fake documents as well.
