Lalu Prasad Criticizes Government for Many Train Accidents
Lalu Prasad Yadav, a prominent political figure, expressed his concern about the frequent train accidents in India. He shared his thoughts on a social media platform and questioned who should be held responsible for these incidents.
Recently, there was a major train accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district. Lalu Prasad Yadav was deeply troubled by this and offered his condolences to the families of the 14 people who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the more than 50 passengers who were injured.
He raised important questions about the ongoing train accidents in the country. Lalu Prasad Yadav asked how long authorities would try to cover up these accidents with misleading headlines. He also referred to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) that indicated heavy financial losses for the Indian Railways due to privatization.
One of the recent accidents involved the Palasa passenger train colliding with the Raigarh passenger train, resulting in 14 fatalities and numerous injuries. Officials from the East Coastal Railway (ECR) believed that the casualty count might increase.
Prior to this incident, a derailment of the Anand Vihar (New Delhi) Kamakhya North East Express at Raghunathpur station on October 11 led to five deaths and over 30 injuries. There was also the tragic Balasore triple train accident in Odisha, where the Coromandel Express and two other trains collided, claiming the lives of 292 passengers.
