Tenant Farmer Dies by Suicide in Bhupalpally Due to Loan Pressure

Jayashankar Bhupalpally: A 30-year-old tenant farmer from Nacharam village in Malhar mandal died by suicide on Sunday after facing severe financial stress.

The farmer, Bandari Devendar, had taken a loan of ₹4 lakh to grow chilli crops. However, for the past two years, his crops failed, and he received very low prices in the market, making it impossible for him to repay the loan.

Devendar did not own any land and relied solely on leased farmland for his income. According to his family, the constant crop losses and poor market returns pushed him into deep distress. Unable to cope with the pressure, he reportedly consumed pesticide.

The local police have registered a case based on a family member’s complaint and have begun an investigation into the incident.
