Big News: Telangana to Issue 2.4 Lakh New Ration Cards
Hyderabad: Great news for people waiting for ration cards in Telangana! The state government is getting ready to distribute 2.4 lakh new ration cards this month, which will help about 11.3 lakh more people get access to food benefits.
The Civil Supplies Department is moving quickly to give ration cards to all eligible people. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will start the distribution on July 14 at a meeting in Tungaturthi, Suryapet district. After that, the program will continue in all areas of the state.
In the last six months, the government has already given 41 lakh new ration cards. So far, 4.76 lakh applications have been approved, and the list is available on the Civil Supplies Department website.
Besides new cards, the department is also helping people update existing cards—like adding family members. Even if someone is already getting ration, the physical card still needs to be handed over.
The government has set up a system where ministers and MLAs in each area will help distribute the cards directly to people. Local officials will share details about distribution dates and locations soon.
The new ration cards will also be smart cards with QR codes, making them easier to use and more secure.
How to Check If You Got a Card:
- Go to: https://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
- Click on “FSC Search” on the homepage.
- Select “Ration Card Search” from the dropdown.
- Enter your FSC reference number or ration card number and select your district.
- Click Search – your card and family details will appear.
If your name is on the list, your card will be distributed soon. If not, you might need to wait a little longer.
Still Need a Card?
You can still apply at any Meeseva Kendra. Officials say the ration card distribution is ongoing, and no eligible person will be left out.
