Hyderabad: Chandanagar Police Bust Kidnap Gang, Rescue 6 Kids

In a major operation, Chandanagar police uncovered a child kidnapping gang that had been active for nearly five years across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Sangareddy. Six children, including a five-year-old boy abducted from Lingampally last week, were rescued.

The case began when a woman reported that her son, Akhil, went missing near Pochamma Temple in Lingampally on August 26. Acting quickly, police formed special teams and arrested the main accused, Ch. Raju, an Ayurveda practitioner from Patancheru, along with his associates Mohd Asif, Rizwana, Narsimha Reddy, and Balaraju.

According to police, the gang targeted children under five years old from railway stations and lonely areas. They later sold the children to childless couples for large sums of money through middlemen. Shockingly, investigations revealed that one parent even sold his newborns through this gang.

The rescued children were identified as Akhil (5), Arun (2), Ammulu (8 months), Lasya (5), Adivik (2), and Priya (1). While four children have been reunited with their families, two are still under official care.

Police also seized ₹5 lakh from the gang. The arrested suspects were produced in court and sent to judicial custody. The children have been handed over to the District Child Protection Officer for care and rehabilitation.
