Hyderabad CP Meets CAPF Officials to Discuss Assembly Election Security

Hyderabad: In preparation for the upcoming Telangana State Legislative Assembly elections, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police (CP) Sandeep Shandilya met with Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) officials on Monday to discuss security arrangements.

CP Shandilya briefed the CAPF officials on the following key areas:

  • Critical Polling Stations (CPS): The CAPF will be responsible for providing security at CPS, which are polling stations that have been identified as being at high risk of violence or other disruptions.
  • Flying Squad duties: Flying squads are mobile teams of police and CAPF personnel that are deployed to respond to reports of election-related violations. The CAPF will play a key role in staffing and operating flying squads.
  • Fast deployment: CP Shandilya stressed the importance of the CAPF being able to deploy quickly to critical points in the city in the event of trouble.

The CP also instructed ACPs to make proper accommodation arrangements for CAPF personnel and to work closely with them to ensure a smooth and secure election process.

Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (L & O), also attended the meeting.
