Warangal Congress Leaders Unite Ahead of Telangana Panchayat Elections

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress’ disciplinary action committee chairman Mallu Ravi on Sunday said that party leaders from the combined Warangal district — including MP, MLAs, MLCs, and Forest Minister Konda Surekha with her husband Konda Murali — have agreed to put aside their differences and work together for the upcoming panchayat elections.

This decision came after a two-hour meeting of the disciplinary action committee, where Konda Murali explained his side of the story. It was agreed that both Congress factions in Warangal district would “let bygones be bygones” and join hands for the party’s success.

Earlier, several Congress MPs, MLAs, and an MLC from the district had complained that the Konda couple was sidelining them and not involving them in development works or party programmes in their constituencies.

Committee vice-chairman Anantula Shyam Mohan clarified that the meeting did not discuss the recent remarks made by Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, as no formal complaint had been filed. However, he said they would speak to Raj Gopal Reddy to hear his side if needed.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Konda Murali said their main focus now is to ensure Congress wins the local body polls, strengthen the party for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, and work towards making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister.
