New Delhi, June 10, 2025 — The results of the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2025 are expected to be announced soon on the official website – upsc.gov.in. Candidates who appeared for the exam are advised to keep checking the website regularly for updates.
This year, the UPSC Prelims were held on May 25, 2025. As per trends from previous years, the results are usually declared within two to three weeks of the exam. Once the result is released, a PDF file with the roll numbers of qualified candidates will be available for download.
How to Check UPSC Prelims Result 2025
Follow these simple steps once the results are declared:
- Visit the official website – upsc.gov.in
- Go to the “Result” section on the homepage
- Click on the UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2025 link
- Download the PDF file
- Search for your roll number in the list
The result will only display the roll numbers of those who have cleared the Prelims and are eligible to appear for the Mains exam.
Cutoff Expectations
The cutoff marks for the UPSC Prelims 2025 are expected to be around 82 to 90 for the General category, as predicted by several coaching institutes. However, the official cutoff will be released only after the final results of the Civil Services Exam.

This year, UPSC aims to fill 979 vacancies through the Civil Services Examination. Nearly 10 lakh candidates appeared for the Prelims, making it one of the most competitive exams in the country.
