Warangal: Holi Joy Turns Tragedy

TSNAB, Shadnagar Police Net Rs. 23 Crore in Assets Linked to Drug Case

Following the arrest of two individuals on drug charges in December last year, the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) along with Shadnagar police have seized properties worth Rs. 23 crores believed to be acquired through illegal drug sales.

Ex-constable and Accomplice Accused of Selling Alprazolam

The arrested individuals were identified as Golla Ramesh, a former excise constable from Kamareddy, and Gundumalla Venkataiah of Shadnagar with roots in Shabad, Ranga Reddy district. They were allegedly involved in selling Alprazolam, a prescription medication, for illegitimate purposes.

TSNAB Tracks Drug Money

Investigators traced ill-gotten gains from the drug trade to various assets accumulated by the suspects. These assets included open plots, buildings, agricultural land, vehicles, and even bank accounts.

Seized Properties Await Legal Proceedings

TSNAB Director Sandeep Shandilya confirmed that the seized properties were purchased with money obtained from illegal Alprazolam sales. He further stated that the authorities received proper authorization before taking possession of the assets. The Shadnagar Police Station (SHO) has frozen the properties under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, awaiting further legal proceedings.
