Election Commission of Telangana Releases List of Acceptable Proof of Identity Documents for Polling Station
Hyderabad, Telangana: The Election Commission of Telangana (CET) has released a list of acceptable proof of identity documents that voters can use to establish their identity at polling stations during upcoming elections. The list includes the following documents:
- Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC)
- Aadhaar card
- MNREGA job card
- Passbook (issued by bank/post office with photo)
- Health Insurance Smart Card
- Driving License
- Pan card
- Smart card (issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour)
- Passport
- Pension Document with photo
- Service Identity Card
- Official Identity Card
- Unique Disability ID (UDID)

Voters are encouraged to carry their EPIC as the primary proof of identity. However, if they are unable to produce their EPIC, they can use any of the other acceptable documents listed above.
The CET has also stated that voters who do not have any of the acceptable proof of identity documents can still cast their vote by providing a declaration of their identity in the prescribed form. However, they may be required to undergo additional verification procedures.
The CET has urged all voters to ensure that they have the necessary proof of identity documents before going to the polling station to cast their vote. They have also stated that voters can check the list of acceptable proof of identity documents on the CET website or by contacting their local election officials.
