Telangana Corporator and Another Granted 24-Hour Police Custody for Land Dispute

Karimnagar, Telangana: In a recent development, Thota Ramulu, a corporator in Karimnagar, and another individual named Chiti Rama Rao, have been granted 24-hour police custody by the court. The duo is accused of harassing a landowner and creating a dispute over his land.

The Case:

On January 17, Raji Reddy, a resident of Bhagathnagar in Karimnagar, filed a complaint against Ramulu, Rama Rao, and Nimmasetti Shyam.
In his complaint, Reddy alleged that the trio was harassing him by creating a dispute regarding his land.
Acting on the complaint, the Karimnagar commissionerate police formed a special investigation team to handle the case.
Based on their investigation, the police registered a case against all three individuals and arrested Ramulu and Rama Rao.

Court proceedings:

On Monday, the arrested duo applied for bail.
However, the court dismissed their bail petition and granted them 24-hour police custody on Tuesday.
Karimnagar Town-I police took both individuals into custody at 5 pm, and their detention will continue until 5 pm on Wednesday.

The police are expected to use this 24-hour period to gather further evidence and interrogate the accused.
