Pedal to the Polls: Rapido Offers Free Rides for Hyderabad Voters
Rapido Pedals Hyderabad’s Voter Turnout with Free Rides to Polling Stations
In a move to boost voter participation, bike taxi service Rapido has announced free rides to over 2,600 polling stations across Hyderabad on the upcoming election day, November 30th.
“By facilitating free bike rides, we intend to encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote,” stated co-founder Pavan Guntupalli, urging residents to cast their ballots without worrying about transportation.
To avail of the complimentary rides, users simply need to enter the code VOTENOW within the Rapido app. This initiative reflects Rapido’s commitment to enhancing voter turnout, particularly among its predominantly young user base.

The company noted a need to improve the urban Hyderabad narrative surrounding voter participation. The past three Assembly elections witnessed voter turnout ranging from 40-55% in the city’s 24 urban constituencies. In contrast, the state recorded a relatively higher turnout of 72-74%.
Rapido’s endeavor aims to bridge this gap by empowering citizens with convenient and accessible transportation to fulfill their civic duty. The company hopes this initiative will inspire a surge in voter turnout, ensuring that every voice is heard in shaping the city’s future.
