Father and uncle kill man over alcohol addiction in Nirmal

Nirmal: In a tragic incident, a man in Nirmal district killed his alcoholic son with the help of his brother and later surrendered to the police.

According to police, the accused, Lalanna, and his brother Laxman, attacked Raju (31), a daily wage labourer, with a stick at their home in Thanur mandal on Wednesday night. Raju died on the spot after being severely beaten and suffering broken legs.

Lalanna told the police that his son’s constant drinking and harassment had made life unbearable for the family. He said Raju, who got married in 2019, refused to work and often created trouble at home. Out of frustration, Lalanna and his brother decided to end his life.

Raju leaves behind his wife and two young sons.
Following a complaint from Raju’s mother, police registered a murder case against Lalanna and Laxman. The investigation is currently underway.
