Two people from Jharkhand have been arrested by the CBI in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. Dr. Ehsanul Haque, principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, and vice principal Imtiaz Alam were taken into custody by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation revolves around allegations that the question papers for NEET-UG were leaked. Investigators suspect that the leak might have originated from Oasis School. Earlier, Dr. Haque mentioned that they had faced difficulties with a digital lock on the boxes containing the question papers on the exam day, May 5. They had to resort to using a cutter to open the boxes after the lock did not open as scheduled.

The Bihar economic offenses unit, which investigated the matter, found that a serial code from a leaked question paper matched with those from Oasis School. As a result, officials took custody of the boxes containing the question papers for further investigation.

The Ministry of Education handed over the case to the CBI on June 22 for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities during the NEET (UG) 2024 examination.
