Medak Woman Dies by Suicide; Family Blames Husband, In-Laws

Young Woman Dies by Suicide in Medak; Family Alleges Harassment by Husband and In-Laws

Medak, Telangana: A 26-year-old woman, Dacharam Nagarani, died by suicide on Tuesday at her home in Chandi village, Shivvampet mandal. The incident has sparked tension in the area, as her family has blamed her husband and in-laws for pushing her to take the extreme step.

Nagarani was married to Sathish for six years, and the couple had two children — a son and a daughter. According to reports, there had been ongoing issues in the household, especially between Nagarani and her husband’s family.

Police said that Nagarani had a quarrel with her mother-in-law over a small issue on Monday. Upset over the argument, she allegedly took her own life by hanging herself early Tuesday morning.

Soon after the news broke, her parents and relatives from Elkanti village in Siddipet district reached Chandi and accused Sathish and his family of mentally harassing Nagarani, which they believe led to her death.

Shivvampet Inspector Rangakrishna visited the village and assured the family that a proper investigation is underway. He said that strict action will be taken if anyone is found guilty.

The police have registered a case and are questioning the husband and his family as part of the probe.
