Hyderabad: Marijuana Worth ₹4.2 Crore Seized in Major Drug Bust

Hyderabad: In a major drug bust, Hyderabad’s EAGLE team along with Khammam police seized 847 kg of marijuana worth ₹4.2 crore. The marijuana was packed in 26 bags and hidden in a Mahindra Bolero vehicle. Two suspects from Odisha were arrested.

The arrested men, Khilla Dhana (29) and Rajendar Bajing (26), are known drug offenders. Police said they were part of an interstate drug network that smuggled marijuana from Malkangiri in Odisha to Uttar Pradesh, passing through Telangana and Karnataka.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the vehicle near Shamshabad. Along with the drugs, they also recovered a sword, an SUV, and mobile phones.

According to officials, the gang used smart techniques like special packaging and secret communication to transport the drugs. The main coordinator, Ramesh Sukri, and a buyer from Uttar Pradesh, Shaffiq, are currently absconding.

The two suspects and the seized items have been handed over to Rachakonda police for further investigation. The case is ongoing.
