Karimnagar Man Booked for Killing Dog
Man Arrested for Killing Dog in Karimnagar After Menaka Gandhi’s Intervention
A man in Karimnagar has been booked for killing a dog after police initially refused to take action. The incident happened near the Venkateshwara temple at a vegetable market.
Ajaz, a shop owner in the market, is accused of killing the dog. Locals say he was angry with the dog because it had bitten him and other people in the area before.
Animal rights activist A. Goutham from the Stray Animal Foundation of India filed a complaint, but police didn’t register the case at first. However, after Goutham contacted Menaka Gandhi, a well-known animal rights advocate, she called the police, and they finally filed an FIR. A post-mortem was conducted on the dog.
This case highlights the importance of speaking up for animal rights, especially with support from prominent activists.
