Manipal Student Suicide Shock

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad on Friday night. The victim, Shalini, was riding her scooter to her sister’s house when her husband, Bala Kotaiah, followed her and stopped her vehicle.

An argument ensued, and Bala Kotaiah pushed Shalini down and attacked her on the head with a boulder. She suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot.

Local residents tried to stop Bala Kotaiah, but he fled the scene. Police have registered a case of murder and are searching for him.

According to police sources, the couple had been having frequent fights over trivial issues.

This is the latest in a string of domestic violence-related murders in Hyderabad. In June, a woman was killed by her husband after she refused to have sex with him. In May, another woman was killed by her husband for dowry.

Domestic violence is a serious problem in India, with millions of women affected each year. According to a 2018 report by the National Crime Records Bureau, over 32,000 cases of domestic violence were reported in Telangana.
