Hyderabad: Death Toll in Adulterated Toddy Case Rises to 5 Near Kukatpally

Hyderabad: The death toll in the adulterated toddy incident near Kukatpally rose to five after another patient, identified as Gangamani, passed away at Gandhi Hospital early Monday morning.

According to hospital authorities, a total of 16 people have been admitted so far after consuming contaminated toddy from several toddy compounds in and around the Kukatpally area. While some patients have shown signs of recovery, a few remain critical.

“One patient, Gangamani, has died. Three patients have left the hospital against medical advice, and four are expected to be discharged today,” a Gandhi Hospital official confirmed.

Authorities continue to investigate the source of the adulterated toddy and have yet to announce any arrests or official actions taken against the vendors involved.
