Cyclone Montha Intensifies; IMD Issues Red Alert for Telangana
Hyderabad: Cyclone Montha has strengthened into a severe storm over the Bay of Bengal, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue red and orange alerts across Telangana. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms are expected in many parts of the state over the next three days.
Tuesday Forecast:
The IMD has issued a red alert for several districts, warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
Wednesday Forecast:
An orange alert has been announced for Adilabad, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Khammam, and Warangal districts, where heavy to very heavy rain is likely. A yellow alert is in place for Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts.
Thursday Forecast:
Heavy rainfall is likely in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal districts. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also expected in parts of Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu districts.

Hyderabad Weather:
The city is likely to see cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers and gusty winds for the next two days. Mornings and nights may be misty and hazy, while temperatures are expected to stay around 30°C (max) and 22°C (min).
The IMD has advised residents and authorities to stay alert and take necessary precautions as Cyclone Montha moves closer to the coast.
