Cyclone Montha Disrupts Flights: 35 Cancellations at Hyderabad Airport
Hyderabad: Air travel was hit hard on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) as Cyclone Montha neared the Andhra Pradesh coast. A total of 35 flights were cancelled at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), mainly affecting routes to coastal cities like Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, and Vijayawada.
IndiGo faced the biggest disruption, cancelling 15 arrivals and 15 departures on these key routes. Air India Express also cancelled five flights, including services to and from Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

Airport officials said that passengers had been informed in advance by the airlines.
Earlier, IndiGo had issued a travel advisory on X (formerly Twitter), asking passengers flying to or from coastal cities to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
Hyderabad airport also shared a similar advisory on X, urging passengers to confirm flight schedules with their airlines and plan travel accordingly due to the cyclone’s impact.
