Bus Overturns at Narsingi ORR: 1 Dead, 15 Injured

Bus Overturns at Narsingi ORR

A bus traveling from Patancheruvu to Chennai via Vijayawada overturned at the Narsingi Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Sunday night around 9 pm. The bus hit a pole after running over the road meridian, causing the accident.

Tragically, a woman named Mamatha fell out of the bus and was killed instantly when she was crushed by the bus. The police used a crane to lift the bus and recover her body, which was then taken to the mortuary.

ACP Narsingi, Ramana Goud, stated that the bus was speeding, which likely caused the driver to lose control. The police are investigating further and have sent the driver to the hospital to check if he was drunk. Passengers reported that the driver’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was 180, indicating he was very drunk.

The accident injured about 15 people. Emergency services, including the police, traffic officers, DRF teams, and ambulance staff, quickly arrived to help. Some injured passengers received first aid on the spot, while others were taken to nearby hospitals.

The accident caused a heavy traffic jam on the busy ORR. The police later used two cranes to remove the bus and clear the road.
