Cold Wave Alert Issued for Five Telangana Districts on November 18

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a cold wave alert for five districts in Telangana on Tuesday, November 18. These districts are Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Sangareddy, and Medak. IMD said that cold wave conditions are likely to occur in a few isolated places in these areas.

For the next 24 hours, Hyderabad and nearby regions are expected to experience mist or hazy weather during the morning and night.

IMD also stated that minimum temperatures may drop by 2°C to 3°C over the next couple of days. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 29°C, while the minimum may be around 14°C.

Temperatures Drop Sharply Across the State

Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed a major drop in temperatures between the mornings of November 16 and 17. As many as 14 locations recorded temperatures below 10°C.

  • Sirpur (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad) recorded the lowest temperature at 7°C.

  • Other places also reported very low temperatures, such as 7.1°C in Kohir (Sangareddy), 7.7°C in Sonala (Adilabad), 8.1°C in Bantwaram (Vikarabad), and 8.2°C in Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy).

Several other locations recorded temperatures between 8°C and 10°C, including Rudrangi, Bibipet, Rayapole, Makloor, Bheemaram, Havelighanpur, Kuntala, Balanagar, and Kothapalle.

The remaining 19 districts saw minimum temperatures between 10°C and 13°C.
Muduchinthalapally (Medchal Malkajgiri) recorded 10.5°C, while Maredpally in Hyderabad recorded 11.2°C.
