Hyderabad Shop Closing Confusion Sparks Public Outcry
Confusion and frustration have gripped Hyderabad due to conflicting messages about when shops should close. The Hyderabad police clarified on Monday that social media posts suggesting shops must close by 10:30 or 11:00 pm were false. However, the situation turned chaotic again on Tuesday when a tweet from Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy reiterated similar rules.
This tweet, posted at 11:27 am and later deleted, added to the confusion sparked by earlier conflicting statements. Citizens took to social media to vent their frustrations. One user criticized the situation, likening it to a circus rather than effective governance. Another questioned whether the government was running the state or just staging a comedy show.
A video showing a police patrol van warning of lathi charges after 11 pm further fueled public outcry. Critics argue such measures are counterproductive, especially for young people who are unfairly targeted instead of being provided with parks and recreational facilities.
The recent social media news making rounds that city police are closing shops by 10.30 or 11 pm are totally misleading.
The shops and establishments will open/close as per the already existing rules only.
Hence the same may be noted by all.

Overall, these mixed messages not only disrupt daily life but also undermine public trust in the authorities.
