20-year-old Hyderabad woman dies by suicide after boyfriend refuses marriage

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old B.Tech student from Hyderabad died by suicide after her boyfriend refused to marry her. The incident occurred in the Meerpet police station limits on Sunday.

The woman, identified as Viharika, was a resident of Almasguda. She had been in a relationship with a man named Kishore, who lives in the same area, for the past few years.

Recently, Kishore reportedly refused to marry her. Distressed by this, Viharika left her home on December 17. Her parents filed a complaint with the police, and she returned home the next day.

After her return, Viharika’s parents approached Kishore with a marriage proposal, but he again refused.

Following this, Viharika became depressed and died by suicide by hanging at her house. Her body was later shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Meerpet Police Station said that a case has been registered against Kishore.
