Unlicensed TSDCA Godown Selling Medicines Busted in Hyderabad Raid
Hyderabad: Acting on a tip, drug inspectors from the Telangana Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) raided an unlicensed godown in Uppal’s Sarojini Nilayam area. The raid uncovered illegal activities by Salla Santosh, who was operating the godown without the necessary TSDCA license to sell or retail medicines.
Unlicensed Operation and Seized Goods:
The godown lacked a valid TSDCA license, a mandatory requirement for selling or retailing pharmaceuticals.
During the raid, inspectors found numerous cardboard boxes containing various medicines, including:
High-generation antibiotics
Pediatric syrups
Anti-ulcer drugs
Multivitamins and multi-mineral supplements
The estimated value of the seized medicines is Rs. 3.5 lakh.
Samples were collected for further analysis to ensure their safety and compliance with regulations.
TSDCA’s Vigilance and Legal Implications:
The TSDCA remains vigilant in its efforts to curb unlicensed medical operations and ensure public safety.
V B Kamalasan Reddy, DG of TSDCA, reiterated that illegally stocking and selling medicines is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with potential imprisonment of up to five years.
