Traffic gridlock engulfs Hyderabad as PM Modi’s visit sparks congestion
Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on November 7 for a meeting at LB Stadium caused widespread traffic jams in various parts of the city. The movement of vehicles was severely hampered in areas stretching from OGH, Hotel Rajdhani, MJ Market, Care Hospital, Gandhi Bhavan, and Nampally Railway Station towards Public Garden.
The congestion extended beyond these locations, with Abids and other areas around LB Stadium also experiencing significant traffic slowdown. Despite the efforts of Goshamahala and Nampally Traffic Police to manage the flow of vehicles, bumper-to-bumper jams persisted throughout the afternoon and evening.
Earlier, traffic police had issued an advisory, announcing restrictions on vehicle movement from 2 pm to 8 pm on connecting roads in anticipation of the large crowds expected for the PM’s visit. However, the sheer volume of traffic proved overwhelming, leading to widespread congestion that affected commuters across the city.
