Telangana Assembly Polls: Liquor Shops to Close for 48 Hours

Rachakonda: Wine Shops Closed for Holi

Telangana: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the Telangana authorities to close all liquor shops in the state for 48 hours, beginning from 5 PM on November 28, in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. The shops will also remain closed on counting day, December 3, until the end of vote counting.

The ECI has also directed the authorities to take appropriate measures to implement a complete prohibition on the sale of liquor and other substances within polling areas for 48 hours.

This is a standard practice followed by the ECI during elections to prevent any law and order problems or misuse of alcohol to influence voters.
