Truck catches fire near Shamshabad, traffic blocked on NH-44

Hyderabad: Traffic on National Highway 44 near Shamshabad came to a halt early Friday after a truck carrying plastic materials caught fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The truck was traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru when flames suddenly erupted from the front part of the vehicle. The driver and cleaner quickly jumped out and escaped safely.

Local residents tried to put out the fire using water, and soon a municipal water tanker and fire tender arrived at the spot. Firefighters managed to control the blaze, and the burnt truck was later moved to the roadside with the help of a crane.

Due to the fire, traffic was briefly stopped on the highway. Officials suspect the blaze might have been caused by a short circuit, but the exact reason is still being investigated.
