RTA Uncovers Illegal Sale of Fancy Numbers, Fraud

The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Hyderabad has found over 50 staff members involved in illegal activities. These include selling fancy vehicle numbers through illegal bidding and issuing fake insurance certificates. The fraudulent transactions were carried out by Database Administrators (DBAs) without their higher-ups knowing.

Complaints have been filed against these DBAs, accusing them of helping vehicle owners get their registrations, fitness tests, and other paperwork done without valid insurance. This has led to fake insurance documents being given out, which not only helps people save money but also puts road safety at risk. Vehicles, like auto-rickshaws and buses, are driving around without proper insurance. Senior officials are now investigating the situation in detail.
