Kothur Sister Murder: Woman Killed by Brother Over Phone Call
In a tragic case from Penjarla village in Kothur mandal, a 21-year-old woman named D Ruchitha was allegedly killed by her younger brother after a fight over her phone call with her boyfriend. The incident, now being referred to as the Kothur sister murder, took place on Monday when their parents were not at home.
Ruchitha had completed her degree and was planning to pursue an MBA. She was in a relationship with a young man from the same village, but her family opposed it. Earlier, both families had tried to end the relationship and warned the couple not to talk to each other again. Despite the warning, the two had resumed their phone conversations.

On Monday, when Ruchitha was alone at home with her 20-year-old brother Rohith, he saw her talking to her boyfriend on the phone. This led to a heated argument between the siblings. In a sudden act of anger, Rohith allegedly strangled Ruchitha to death using a wire.
Later in the evening, when their parents returned, Rohith claimed that Ruchitha had fallen unconscious. However, the parents suspected foul play and informed the police.
The police in Kothur have registered a case and launched a full investigation into the Kothur sister murder.
