GHMC Prohibits Cake Cutting And Littering At Tank Bund

Hyderabad, GHMC: In response to concerns about the environmental damage caused by birthday celebrations at midnight around Hussainsagar Lake, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has implemented new restrictions on such events.

Signage has been erected along Tank Bund, the iconic walkway bordering the lake, declaring “Cake cutting prohibited on Tank Bund. Do not litter here. Penalties will be imposed. You are under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.”

“We are placing banners in many parts of the city asking citizens not to litter roads,” stated a senior sanitation official.
