Sena Leader’s Son Detained After BMW Accident in Mumbai’s Worli
A woman died after a speeding BMW hit a bike in Mumbai’s Worli. The couple on the bike, Pradeep and Kaveri Nakhava, were coming home after buying fish on Sunday morning. The accident happened in the Koliwada area.
Pradeep Nakhava lost control of the bike and jumped off, but his wife Kaveri, carrying a heavy load, couldn’t escape and was crushed by the BMW. The car was allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah.
Kaveri Nakhava was taken to Nair Hospital but died from her injuries. The driver of the BMW fled the scene.
The police have detained Rajesh Shah, the car owner, who is a local Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader in Palghar. They also caught the driver and Mihir Shah, who is believed to have been in the car during the accident. The police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine who was driving.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Aditya Thackeray visited the Worli police station and met with Pradeep Nakhava. Thackeray emphasized that the incident should not be politicized and called for the arrest of the driver.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured strict action, saying that the party affiliation of the accused wouldn’t influence the case. Shinde stated that everyone is equal before the law and promised that the guilty will be punished.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred at 5:30 am near Atria Mall in Worli. Pradeep managed to jump off the bike, but Kaveri was dragged by the car for 100 meters, resulting in severe injuries. She died during treatment.
Police Investigation
The BMW belonged to Rajesh Shah, and the police detained him for questioning. His son, Mihir Shah, is still on the run. The police are investigating the case and reviewing CCTV footage.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called the incident unfortunate and assured that action will be taken against those responsible, regardless of their political connections.
Aditya Thackeray visited the police station and met with officials. He stressed the need for swift action and assured the victim’s husband that efforts would be made to bring the accused to justice.
