Two AP Police Officers Die in Road Accident on Way to Hyderabad

Two senior Andhra Pradesh police officers died, and two others were injured in a car accident early Saturday morning near Choutuppal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.

The accident happened around 5 AM at Khaitapuram crossroads when a team of four police officials was traveling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad in a Scorpio car. The team included DSPs M Chakradhara Rao and Shanta Rao, Additional SP KVS Prasad, and Head Constable Narsing Rao.

According to police, the car driver tried to avoid hitting a vehicle in front, lost control, hit a road divider, and crossed over to the other side of the road. A lorry coming from the opposite direction crashed into the car.

Choutuppal police rushed to the scene and pulled all four officers out of the damaged vehicle. They were taken to a hospital, where doctors declared Chakradhara Rao and Shanta Rao dead.

The other two, Prasad and Narsing Rao, were later shifted to a private hospital in LB Nagar, Hyderabad, for better treatment. Speeding is suspected to be the cause of the accident. Reports say the officers were heading to Hyderabad to meet their families.

The Rachakonda police have registered a case and are investigating. A police team from Vijayawada also arrived in Hyderabad to look into the incident.
