Andhra Woman Found Dead in Odisha Hotel Room, Husband Missing

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a woman from Andhra Pradesh was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Berhampur, Odisha. The deceased has been identified as KrishnaVeni Konapalli of RV Nagar village in GK Veedhi Mandalam of Visakhapatnam district.

The incident came to light on Saturday evening when the hotel staff, unable to get a response from the room, alerted the hotel owner who subsequently informed the Baidyanathpur police.

Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M. revealed that the local police received information about the incident at around 10 p.m. on Saturday. A police team, along with a scientific team and senior officers, rushed to the spot immediately.

According to the SP, KrishnaVeni had checked into the lodge on November 19 with her husband, Sameedmon A.S., from Kollam, Kerala. The couple had been married for three years. Sameedmon is currently missing, and an unnatural death case has been registered.

The victim’s family members have been informed and are expected to reach Berhampur soon. The SP added that the victim’s family had been against the relationship, leading KrishnaVeni to elope.

The police are currently examining CCTV footage from the locality and are seeking to identify an individual who allegedly met the couple at the hotel. The couple’s belongings, a letter, and other items have been seized from the crime scene.

The hotel manager informed investigators that the couple had told the hotel staff they were in Berhampur for medical treatment. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause and time of death. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to locate the missing husband and determine his role in the incident.
